Be Careful with using "Son of a Gun", cuz we don't think much about it these days. It 'Sounds like' Grand,Good Pirate talk, Aye?? U Ole Son of a Gun That was how the offspring were referred to that came from a 'visit' between the cannons on the Gun decks in the ole frigate days. The Sailors were 'impressed' into service (no goin' ashore for those lads Aye?) so when in Port, the Officers (who 'could' go ashore) would have Ladies of the Evening brought out & to come aboard to entertain the troops (and avoid a mutiny).
