Larry, I've had topping lifts on most of my various sailboats, would now not want to be without one. "Rejoyce!" has a doubled-ended topping lift: one end to a block at the end of the boom, then to a cleat on the side; other end to a block at mast- head, thence down to a turning block and back to a cam cleat on the cabin top. Health requires that I do everything from the cockpit. Also use the topping lift for port-side only Lazy Jacks, also very useful for a too-old man. I use a very light line for the topping lift, but long! John R. Butler theoldcat@cox.net First M15 was "Joy", '83 #264 Now sail "Rejoyce!", '86 #361
John, Nice to know that I am not the only old man who is willing to innovate to stay on the water. I have been sailing for almost 60 years and ain't about to give it up now.
