Rich, I changed my 1982 M15's center board pennant and removed the pin. I'm glad I did since the pin had rusted away in spots and the center board had a crack in it by the pin hole. I also found the center board had several other cracks and some swelling. I fixed the cracks, ground down the swollen area and put a new pin in. As long as I was doing the pennant, it was worth my time to have an almost new center board in the proper shape. Norm M15 #172
I will never part with Pelican regardless of how she treats me. . I have worked on her center board, ground it down, replaced her pennant, reinforced her pin hole. What I should have done was replace her steel core center board with a lead core center board.
