At what size does the Genoa have to go outside the shrouds on an M15? I would have thought that a 125 could stay inside. I recommend mounting a couple-three feet of genoa track on the toe rail, starting abouit four feet from the aft end or the rail, about where the combing stops turning and straightens out going toward the stern of the boat. You'll need to mound a cleat up on the combing--a largish horn or jam cleat will do the trick, but you can get fancier if you want... I had been planning this mod for my 17. Has anyone added a track to an old school aluminum toe rail 17? The most used sail in my inventory is the 155. I do use a snap shackle/ swivel block....on the toe rail to adjust...but when sheeted in hard the foot is inside the life lines. I have also used a barberhauler to close the slot to good effect at times......not that that has anything to do with a track.... Thanks Skipper I hate to do anything to my toe rail. I just took it off Pelican an refinished it. It is beautiful! With new teak plugs with grain aligned. Bristo :) The thought of mounting a track to it is hard to take :(. I am wondering how often do you skippers with 150's actually adjust the lead on the track? I am thinking of a pad-eye on the deck at the perfect location with no adjustment. You skipper would let me know if I have laid in to much rum....wouldn't you? Barber haulers are great for controlling the angle of pull on a headsail sheet. I would think that as well. Something like a 155 would go to a couple feet of track on the toe rail (that's how I had mine set up), but 125 could stay inside. t
