Got my first experience on one of these boats. One of your esteemed members, Ken, graciously took me out yesterday to Lake Sonoma in his 1981 M15. I just loved it. We had a wonderful sail. I was at the tiller most of the time. Poor Ken.
We really had a good time. I would be moving up from a dinghy, so it was an interesting experience sailing a boat with a keel. Really fun. This boat when trimmed correctly really moves along. We had fun playing with angles of heal and watching the GPS knot meter respond. The boat really responds to the proper lines. She points nicely. Just delightful. We put her through all maneuvers; gibing, beating to windward, running, and even heaving to. I was able to pull the boat, launch, and retrieve with my V6 Honda Accord without trouble. This weight appears to be the limit of what I could reasonably pull and launch with that car.
Now I just gotta get me one! Hmm. Gotta work on the wife...
