Bill, We day-sailed Carol II, an M-15, for many years on lakes in various parts of the country without a motor relying on sail and a set of long reach paddles. It wasn't until moving to this area and sailing on the Chesapeake Bay that we felt a motor was necessary. Becalmed on an outgoing tide drove the message home. If you are intending to travel any significant distances in your boat, you will very probably be glad someday that you had a motor available - even if you regularly stow it under one of the seats and only mount it when you decide you really need to get moving. Enjoy ! Stan
