I'll have to perform some tests (rpm vs speed) with it and report back to the list. While I'm at it, I can perform the same test with the other prop (different pitch) and see how much of a difference that really makes. I think on my Maine trip I used a quart or two of fuel for the whole two weeks and probably a 1/2 hp motor would've been almost sufficient. Since I'm planning on replacing the Tartan's inboard with an outboard, I made up a temporary outboard bracket to hang over the transom. I'll test the Honda out on it too to get a feel for how close it is to what I'll end up with. I'm guessing probably the 8 hp for it.
