Thanks for the info Sean. I suspected the wide angle stuff was from Go Pro. I also thought that the older stuff of you and Jo was some other camera. My youngest son got a Go Pro for Xmas but it's not as HD as yours. I'm going to check into those little cameras since I sail, kayak, and ride motorcycles. It would be good for all of those activities. I've never made a DVD that I could upload to YouTube but I'd like to. I did one several years ago for my USS Walton shipmates that was about 16 min long but it took up a whole lot of memory and I don't think I can upload that to YT. Plus, I used the music from Victory at Sea. I know they'd recognize that. ;-) Anyway, sorry I missed LHPCC this year. I'm looking at getting a Potter 15 after I sell my M-17. If so, I'm make it next year. Thanks and good uck. - Ed -----Original Message----- From: Nebwest2@aol.com Sent: Friday, April 13, 2012 11:22 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: M_Boats: Video - Bring me to life Thanks Ed.. Ok so...Camera.... Well this video has numerous video sources as it is a compilation of stuff. The crappy quality video is from a few years ago when I was taking video clips with our Cannon still camera that would allow you to take some quick video clips...but was primarily a still camera...That would be shots like the ones where Jo and I are in the clips. Then there are some quick clips I caught with my Android Evo phone which honestly..for a phone...takes pretty darn nice stuff. The slo-mo opening scene of the wave bashing is from the phone. Then I have a sony FS100 video camera that took a lot of the footage...more high quality stuff.. And finally ...Jo got me a Gopro Heroe II and it's awesome!...1080 video...most of the really high quality stuff is from there. No zoom..but it has an EXTREMELY wide angle fish eye view....170 degrees I think. I am just starting to use this simple little camera and I love it. Best quality video I ever have gotten and way versatile. All kinds of mounts....it's the camera mounted to the mast and the pulpit. uh....I just upgraded my video editor to Corel Video Pro 5. Not the most advanced video editor out there....but very affordable and does more than I know how to do so far. All done 100% on my laptop, an HP Pavillion dv7 with 4 megs of ram. next laptop will have 8 or more. You cannot have enough memory...this stuff is a memory hog and you can totally bonk your machine to a standstill if you get too crazy with only 4megs. No fancy settings used on cameras. The opening balck and white scenes and the slo mo on the wave bashing done in the Corel. Music is ripped from my itunes files. Youtube will allow some songs if they have an agreement with the label,.....if not they disable the audio. I just created one recently that was all timed to the audio and they dis allowed it. Oh well. Look at other videos....I find songs I like that have been used for other videos...then I know that I can use that same song and they will allow it by adding a link to my video page where you can buy that song. That's totally fine with me.
