Hi Skip
Don't understand why you are reluctant to visit thr Montgomery factory, I was there in August in connection with my purchase of
a new trailer for my M17 and had a very nice visit with Bob & a complete tour of the facility.
Bob took time from his schedule to personally show me around and answer all my questions.
I'm very satisfied with the trailer and appreciated a chance to see the inner workings of a Montgomery in production.

Regards

Subject: M_Boats: Opinion on the "New" Montgomery

Good afternoon from Rockport, Texas.
My wife and I are considering purchasing a new M 17 for sailing out of Southwest Harbor, Maine.  It will be our 2nd.  The first was in 1983 which we stupidly sold after 3 years.
So far we are planning to make a trip to the factory in December to take a look at the new production but, the folks at the plant have been less than enthusiastic about our making the trip.  It makes us wonder what is up.  We found Jerry Montgomery to be wonderful to work with in 1981 when we were building a Bristol Channel Cutter and using one of his dinks (absolutely the best tender ever built!)  and also just teriffic when he delivered our M 17 to Corpus Christi, TX in 1983.
I would greatly appreciate your sharing any recent experiences in the new production line with us.  Cheers and have a great day.
