It could indicate a serious problem, you will need to diagnose where the leak is coming from. My '81 M15 does this and I'm nearly certain it's the hull to deck joint, as it only leaks when sailing in winds strong enough to cause significant heeling. It was a lot of fun, our first time sleeping at anchor, 65 miles traveled (some of them even sailing when the wind was blowing!). However, when I got the boat back home and was unpacking it, and checking things, I found a few inches of water in the narrow slot behind the centerboard. I'm not sure how it could have gotten in there since the bottom and everything appears to be in good shape from what I can see with the boat on the trailer. The centerboard seems to work fine (aside from splashing a bit when we raise/lower it which I think is normal from reading the forums).
