Hi Ron & Kathy Thanks for the encouraging words, my boat also was in storage in Texas, probably dirt dobbers have built nests in there. I think the idea of pushing a steel rod down the top and banging on it sounds good, I'll try that and also a saw blade from the bottom. Ahoy Wayne! my 1974 M17 board was stuck also. it had been in the S.F. bay then stored for about 18 months. we used a piece of 5/8 inch X 2 ft steel rod to drive down on the top thru the pennant hole...hold the tip of the rod forward of where the pennant ties on...wackit pretty good. alternate doing that with working a hacksaw blade held with vicegrips up each side between the board and the trunk...do this from below, lots of junk will fall out. we had to sail and saw and bang for about 5 or 6 outings until it started to free-up. once it was down i dove under and scrubbed with a wire brush. it works fine now altho it's not very pretty. we lower it to the stop then crank back up about an inch. yer gonna love this boat!
best of luck,
