Mine ends in 485. It sure has been a fun boat. I'd love to take it to Puget Sound someday. Next steps are adding an electric panel and ladder. ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Trapp <stevetrapp@Q.com> To: Lawrence Winiarski <lawrence_winiarski@yahoo.com>; For and about Montgomery Sailboats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Sunday, September 4, 2016 11:19 AM Subject: Re: M_Boats: Fern Ridge Reservoir (Oregon) info for sailing later this month? Fern Ridge Reservoir is a great lake for New sailors, big enough to learn on, but not so big it causes much trouble. I also recommend sailing lessons from an accredited sailing school or instructor. Possibly through the Eugene Parks Department or U.O Athletic Department, however, you may need to travel to Portland to Island Sailing Club or Willamette Sailing Club, but well worth the time and expense. What are the last 3 numbers on your hull identification? They are a clue to when your M-15 wads built. Also, make sure the Oregon DOL comprehends that your boat is a Montgomery, they want to put Montgomery Ward on the title and registration. I had my M-15 on Fern Ridge nearly 20 years ago before moving to Spokane and sailing on Lake Couer D' Alene, but now on South Puget Sound at Olympia. I'm no expert, but I'm a newbie learning on an M15 and I live about 10 miles away. Current weather conditions are here https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KORJUNCT6... There are 3 public boat ramps and there are slips available for rent. It seems I priced them at one time and I believe it was around $40 for a week. Parking isn't free. I want to say $4/day, but if you rent a slip, I believe parking is included so it makes it a better deal. http://www.lanecounty.org/departments/pw/parks/pages/lanecountyparksmarinamo... There is the eugene yacht club which has reciprocity with other yacht clubs. http://eugeneyachtclub.net/ Winds are pretty reliable, coming up around 12, and quitting around 7. If you look at the weather site link above, you can scroll back numerous days/weeks to see the history. Lake is about 20 feet deep. Send me an email if you get in the area. ________________________________ From: John Schinnerer <john@eco-living.net> To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Saturday, September 3, 2016 5:42 PM Subject: M_Boats: Fern Ridge Reservoir (Oregon) info for sailing later this month? Hi all, I think there are a couple or more Monty owners here who are familiar with Fern Ridge reservoir just west of Eugene, Oregon? I'm thinking of bringing my M17 "Pajarita" up there for a couple days' sailing later this month. Maybe as soon as before and/or after next weekend, as I need to be in the area on the 12th for sure, and possibly 11th. So if anyone can point me to where to contact for launch, marina, short-term slips/buoys, and best options for those if there are several, I'd much appreciate it! Also any info about how the sailing is this time of year, and, can one sleep on one's boat at anchor or mooring. Sailing with other Montys there would be icing on the cake if this works out for my schedule... :-) thanks, John S. -- John Schinnerer - M.A., Whole Systems Design -------------------------------------------- - Eco-Living - Whole Systems Design Services People - Place - Learning - Integration john@eco-living.net - 510.982.1334 http://eco-living.net http://sociocracyconsulting.com
