Hi folks, I'm kind of barging in here, as I wasn't following the thread, but I just wanted to mention something if the nav. lights you're talking about are the red and green ones mounted on the hull, just below the deck joint near the bow. It's my understanding that it is not legal to have those nav. lights mounted below the gunwhale - I think that perhaps it used to be. I checked this out while restoring my M-17, which also had the bow lights mounted on the topsides, just below the hull/deck joint. In my case I bought a red/green combination and mounted it at the top-front of the bow pulpit. I snaked the wiring up through the pulpit, which I drilled and pre-threaded while I had it off the boat when I recored the foredeck. The light assemblies are 7-3/4" long by 2-3/8" high and fit nicely in the top lapstrake.
