Sounds like it would do just fine, and the price is right. You can drill the holes yourself with a common drill motor, just centerpunch it first so the bit won't drift. Spoke with the folks at McMaster-Carr and they have 1/2 by 6 foot aluminum bronze rods,Alloy 954. Jerry, Howard and the rest of the group do you think this will do the job?
I imagine I could take the piece to any metal fabrication shop and they would cut it to size and drill two holes. Also if anyone else is interested the part number is 8958K32 and the price is $27.69 plus shipping
