DON'T use silicone on the boat. Silicone is not a strong adhesive and will quickly become unbonded from whatever material you're trying to bed. (There is one exception where silicone is used on the Montgomerys, and that is the standard windows but those are held in place mechanically.) silicone also makes it close to impossible to get anything else to stick. Use 3m 4000 or 3m 4200. Another is silkaflex 291. :: Dave Scobie :: M17 #375 SWEET PEA :: Former M15 owner On May 28, 2014 6:12 AM, "Rick Davies" <jdavies104@gmail.com> wrote:
I'm rebedding the mast tabernacle in my M17 and wondered what is the best sealant to use around the electrical cable where it goes through the base of the tabernacle. I've used Boatlife before, but it doesn't seem to hold up. Would a silicone sealant work better?
