For that purpose I would put some pad eyes on the vertical faces of rear and/or sides of cockpit. Unless the cockpit grating is fastened to the boat somehow, if you had a knockdown or even close to it the whole assembly could go flying...including the fuel jug... cheers, John On 7/29/22 17:28, Jim Sadler wrote:
I hope to be able to lash down 5 gal fuel container to the cockpit grading

Lots of 3/4" solid teak grate sold as shower accessories <https://www.hayneedle.com/product/aquateakgratebathmat.cfm?source=pla&kwid=Shower%20level04&tid=AQUA008-1&adtype=pla&kw=&g_network=g&g_productchannel=online&g_adid=540081129353&g_acctid=933-667-2123&g_keyword=&g_campaign=US+-+Standard+Shopping+-+ALL+PRODUCTS+LOW+PRIORITY&g_adtype=pla&g_keywordid=aud-458470684074:pla-293946777986&g_ifcreative=&g_adgroupid=128608285560&g_productid=AQUA008-1&g_merchantid=5643243&g_partition=293946777986&g_campaignid=14323783874&g_ifproduct=product&gclid=Cj0KCQjwio6XBhCMARIsAC0u9aFyxQpUMFc36Q5i-D61o42xAU_GRASvAUVc8KKsqTV3f4GrR0pnA9kaAiebEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds> @ ~$50.sf. Probably could cut to fit. M17 cockpit floor is about 10sf
Doesn't look very dog friendly so probably not for me.

I assume you are doing this to keep your feet dry. What I do is shove a microfiber rag in the drain hole to keep peoples feet dry, if it's calm conditions and zero chance of boarding waves. If it's rough, I'm getting wet anyways and don't worry about it and/or wear rubber boots.

Have any of you skippers installed teak grading on M15?
Was it made from a kit?
Has it worked out for you?
Thanks
