I agree with Brian, if it hasn't failed, don't worry about it. If the position of the knot in the cb lanyard has been mentioned, forgive my noting that this knot is key to keeping the cb deployed at the proper depth. If the knot is not placed correctly, the cb hangs on the pivot pin, works against the leading edge of the cb trunk, and eventually beats the pin out of its housing.
