Neil, I bought a new CB from Bob Eeg, the current M boat builder. The original CB was beyond repair (steel core, rusted). The new CBs are thinner with a lead core, I believe. I could not extract the old one so I have Mel Morrison remove and install. Sail: I usually sail in Folsom Lake, easy launch, calm water mostly, at Brown's Ravine. I don't know if it is still open right now, lake level getting low. It is now $20. for car and boat on trailer. Trailer Rehab: I spent $1000. on my trailer, new wheels, tires, sandblast, primer, finish coat and have the extension tongue freed up. It was rusted locked in the towing position when I got the boat in Ridgecrest, CA (Edwards AFB, Mojave side of CA). The boat had been neglected and used in salt water. It took me a couple of years to bring it all back, and I am still not finished. All it takes is $$$ !!! I'm in the process of running my rig to the cockpit....I hate drilling holes in my boat. Good luck with your sailing....you have a very seaworthy, overbuilt, compact sailboat. As all the M boat owners I have read about say, "Your Monty with tolerate more than you will ever want to! -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Neil Dorf Sent: Monday, August 31, 2009 8:34 PM To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats Subject: Re: M_Boats: Jerry, could you please contact me regarding some M15 rigging needs? Larry, Thanks for the tip. If it can be arranged my first choice would be for Jerry to inspect the boat. I suppose he is probably traveling. Hopefully not in the Gulf of Mexico because a huge hurricane is moving in... On another note, where do you usually sail? Folsom Lake? Rio Vista? Once I get my boat ship-shape I was thinking about trying to organize an informal Northern California M-Boat sailing club. It would be nice to have local group outings and maybe some a technical clinic now and then for info sharing and to meet other M_Boat owners in the region, to include Sacto and San Joaquin valley and Bay Area. Thanks again for the info, I will look up Morrison Marine as a plan B if I don't hear from Jerry. By the way my centerboard does stick just a little due to keel housing swelling, but I can probably live with it for a while before calling Bob Eeg to order a new one. Did you have yours sanded down or a new one installed? Regards, Neil Hughston, Larry wrote:
Dale, try Morrison Marine. I had some good center board work done there. Shrouds too. ---LH, Sacramento, M-15, Hull # 189

I am local to you in the Sacramento area. I think I'm going to need to
replace my shrouds and mainstay, and also need a boom vang. There are other issues I'd like to discuss with you as well if you are available
to consult.
Please leave me a phone number at my email ndorf@surfbest.net
I did try emailing you at jerry@jerrymontgomery.org per your SCA ad, but I have a feeling it may have been trapped in a spam filter since we have not corresponded before.
Thank you very much,
Neil Dorf M15 #342 Roseville, CA
