Let me try it again and finish my thoughts, new computer with touch pad. My wife and I have been going to the Keys each February for the past 8 years. We have stayed at places/cottages that come with sailboats, usually the boats are Catalina 22s or O'Day 23 and we go sailing out into the Gulf 4-6 miles each day. One place is Key Lime Sailing Club located in Key Largo, pretty neat place, many places to walk to for meals and drinks. You can cook in the cottages and though the boats are not brand new, each year they get better. While I would like to take my M17 there, it would be a 3 day drive from Wisconsin. There is a you tube about someone sailing his Montgomery in the Keys, which is pretty good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTGJAOkgyqM Randy Sommerfeld No Worries -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of bownez@juno.com Sent: Tuesday, September 28, 2010 2:55 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: M_Boats: Sailing Key West Hi Joe, I have yet to trailer my M17 down to the Keys, but it is on my list of things to do soon. Nancy and I have been renting homes in the lower Keys for the past 20 years, we will be going down to Little Torch in early March for two weeks. As I free up more business commitments, we will be making the jump to semi-snowbird status and be renting for a month (+). At that point in time, my M17 will be headed south with us. One particularly easy, out of the way, and steep ramp in located on Cudjoe Key on the Atlantic side. It is at about mile marker 23. Pick up a Keys cruising guide and start studying. Keep in mind the water is very thin in many areas. (fun kayaking).
