To make sure this dead horse is well-beaten, I remember a posting a while back saying that, though it is spelled "pendant", it is pronounced "pennant", hence Howard is right all the way around.

Also, there is a bunch of information on the MSOG site, as well as a running Owners Opinion Poll, all about outboards at http://msog.org/cfmods/outboards.cfm. We'd like to have your opinion on the subject. The input page can be accessed at the same url.
