MC. I use a Hummingbird Pirhana 1 fish finder for depth. The manufacturer says it will run 40 to 60 hours on a set of (8, I think) AA batteries. I ran through a couple of sets before I learned to unplug the cable to the battery holder. When you close it up, it can push the switch to the "on" position. I don't think I've replaced plain old worn out batteries yet. In 2 seasons. It isn't shown in the West catalog, but I bought mine from them on special order for $115. It looks like the Piranha 4 shown on page 119 of the 2003 WM Master catalog. A depth finder on a 15 is really unnecessary, but it's fun to learn about the water you're sailing in. I like it a lot.
