Hope to see it next weekend, Jerry! -- John Tyner M-15 #412 "Chimpanzee" On 10/2/2010 7:27 AM, jerry wrote:
The first Sage left here yesterday afternoon for the Annapolis show. This is the prototype boat (mine, actually) and covered with "builder's patina" and needs a little cleaning, with more work to do in the interior and less jib and genoa tracks but it's basically done. Looks great and I have a feeling it's going to fly. To me it looks fast and very together; to all the friends and acquantances that have been watching it slowly develop over the last year that wandered by yesterday it looked like it could sail around the world. (these are mostly canoe and kayak racers who think nothing of paddling 20 lb surfskiis across SF Bay or to Catalina Isl and back, so their sanity and opinions can't be trusted).
I've been working 12/7 for weeks and just woke up at 5 out of habit (that won't last long) and thought I'd let you know what's happening. My camera was in its usual place, which is under the seat of my jeep with the battery dead (along with my cell phone), but several took pics so I should be able to dig up something. I plan to take the boat to Sean's thing at Havasu in Feb. I might call it Goshawk (thought about Sage Rat but thought that sounded a bit dusty).
