Hi Steve, I can appreciate Robb's comments about plywood. I've built a Car Topper and a Bolger NYMPH out of plywood, and both are in great shape, but,........... I have kitchen cabinets - the builder's specials - with doors made of plywood. Several years ago, I decided they needed refinishing - they were varnished. So, I removed them one by one; took them down to the shop; removed the old finish; and then put on about four coats of new varnish. The doors looked great when finished. However, now, if I run my hand across the surface of the doors, I can feel cracks in the finish that come from the plywood. My conclusion: all that effort to have a good "yacht" varnish job on the doors was a waste of time. I should have painted the doors instead of varnishing them. Then at least I could repaint without all the labor that I invested in the first revarnish operation................. No wonder cabinet doors are mostly painted.......! Other people must have had the same experience that I did. Connie
