I just ordered a Nissan 5hp, 4 stroke from Porta-Bote (found on the internet).  They had the lowest delivered price and said the '03 models are in stock and I'd be getting one of those.  During my research I found out that Tohatsu and Nissan are identical except for the paint job and name.  One dealer said that the Mercurys are made by Tohatsu and some of the lower hp Yamahas, as well.  The Tohatsu/Nissan 4hp weighs in at 57 lbs.  The 5 and 6 hp's are 55 lbs. each.  Apparently, these engines are all the same, just bored out more for more hp.  The 4 hp is heavier because it has an internal tank.  An option is available to be able to connect to an external tank but the option price makes the price of the 4 hp greater than the 5 hp.  The 5 and 6's come with an external 3 gallon tank with connection hose.  Hope this helps.
