Here's a post from back in 2010 that I've kept in my boat work file. Seems like an easy way to fix the old style cockpit drains.
"A good replacement for the drain tubes is 1-1/2" marine fiberglass exhaust tubing. It is readily available and can be easily cut and epoxied in place. Remove the aluminum remnants, clean up and rough up with sandpaper the fiberglass remaining in the hull and cockpit. Cut the exhaust tubing to fit and rough it up with sandpaper.. Coat both surfaces with epoxy and your favorite filler and slide in place. When hard clean up edges. Clean strong and no corrosion."
I have no experience with this personally, so I can't vouch for it's durability. I wonder if Joe "jmschum", who originally posted this, is still on the list? It would be nice to hear how this method has held up.

Larry, have you done any scupper mods to Corndog? I remember looking at the great mods BEAR performed on his M17 when we were together at Havasu a few years ago. He had installed a thruhull shut off valve in that tiny space..... I have pictures somewhere.
