I myself am looking forward to the Cruiser Challenge in Monterey, CA on July 18,19(?). I have my new main and a 'secret weapon' 85% jib for IOTA and am planning to chew up Potters and eat them for breakfast along with any other M-15's that dare show up. Yes Jerry, you can take that as a challenge as well as a request for your mast rake opinions before we start. The idea is that I will brag now and prepare to be humble(d) later.
It's my plan to sail 'downhill' to Monterey from Santa Cruz on Friday morning 7/17, weather and seas permitting. Last year it took something around 5 hours, the first hour or so motoring, 10-15 kts in the early afternoon, a single port reach all the way. If anyone would like to sail alongside, let me know. Some company would be great! I will return on the trailer Sunday night, but could consider sailing back if encouraged...
No matter, I hope to see a few of you there. Last year was good fun.
