Well Ya Sure, You Betcha... There's sailing here in Decorah, but it's thin water. We got the Volga, Turkey and Upper Iowa rivers. If you feel like deep water, you can go on out to the Missisippi. Be sure to stop by Luther College, as they have dat der boat dat dem Norwegian boys sailed over (and back) in. Musta been a couple of times. You know you can tell dem Norwegians, but you can't tell us much. Rich, on the honest side, I don't know about any sailing in Decorah, but the Missisippi is about 40 miles away as I recall. There is a boat in the museum at Luther College that a couple of Norwegian Brothers sailed across the Atlantic. It may have been several times. The best pizza in town is a place called Mabe's, and if you run into my cousins (The Borness Family), watch out or your going to be saying things like "Oh ya sure, you betcha" and want to bring a hot dish to any event that you attend. The people are nice and the countryside is beautiful. That coming from a person who lives in the northwest is a compliment. Lots of small rivers, with bluffs and cliffs. A lot of wildlife in the form of deer, squirrels, foxes etc. Kind Regards, Steve ----- Original Message ----- From: <rc2222@postoffice.pacbell.net> To: "Montgomery Boats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, July 29, 2002 8:58 AM Subject: M_Boats: selecting a minicruiser
This month's issue of Sailing Magazine has a small article on mini cruisers. Montgomerys were not among them. What a shame!
I'll be in Decorrah, Iwoa, later this week for a wedding. I've never been to Iowa, let alone the mid west. I'm looking forward to meeting Marion the Librarian and seeing a real Boys Band. Any Sailing there?
