Some of that water sounds awful familiar. If the drinking water was putrid, it would make sense why Oxford never bloomed. Would take their water over a cistern today though. Hmmmmm, on the Bay it rains, blows and doesn't blow. Nettles get you if you go swimming. Not much changes. I can only imagine what might happen if you rowed ashore and tried to by some milk at the first house you came to. But I can also see a where a re-enactment tour is needed!
