---- In its past life, my new-to-me 1976 M17's boom snapped in two and was welded back together. The repair seems solid but the aesthetics have been compromised. What was the original boom section and is it still available? If not, what would be a suitable replacement? I'm in New England so Dwyer is actually a good option for me. Their DM-3 section is a close match, but it appears they only sell it as a mast section and do not carry boom ends or goosenecks for it. The DM-2 looks a little too flimsy. That leaves the DM-275, which should be stout enough but has an elliptical instead of a teardrop section. Thoughts?
