Mike- It probably will come back; while it's in the water, fix the trailer, obviously making sure that it doesn't bear on the deflected area. Give it some time. If it persists, go over the deflected area with a hair dryer, being careful to not get it too hot, and pile something heavy on it while still hot, then let it cool. If this doesn't work yhou'll need to bond on a parch of balsa core and glass over it. jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Johnson" <mrexj71860@gmail.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Saturday, May 07, 2011 4:59 PM Subject: M_Boats: Used Montgomery 17
I am looking at buying a 1985 Monty 17. The hull number is 383066371PMM. Based on this number can anyone confirm this is a 1985 boat?
She is in rough shape but I think some elbow grease and lots of rubbing compound I can bring her back.
Also, the trailer has one rotted board that has created a hard spot. The hull is slightly deformed at this spot. Will it pop back out once I float her?
