i added almost 75# to my M15 ... installed an electrical system and the group 24 battery (almost 75lbs) sat just forward of the steel 'hump' the older M15's have under the v-berth. the battery in box fit like it was built for the location. dave scobie former M15 owner M17 #375 - SWEET PEA visit SWEET PEA's www-site: http://www.m17-375.web.com --- On Tue, 7/7/09, Hughston, Larry <Larry.Hughston@dgs.ca.gov> wrote: Bob, You just mentioned you had added ballast of 75 pounds for an M-15. Is the placement of this ballast in the shoal keel and can I do it myself? Where would I get solid lead? Thanks Bob. ----Larry H. M-15 #189 by Jerry. Ps....You sent me a new CB a few years ago....worked out great. I beefed up the SS pin and did it right. Thanks. -----Original Message----- Regarding water in the cockpit on the Montgomery 15.. A couple of points to consider: 3 people in the cockpit of an M_15 will squat the stern somewhat. On Sandy's 2006 M_15 she has an extra 75 pounds of lead ballast (owner ordered option) This would make a difference. Bob Eeg Montgomeryboats.com (949) 489-8227
I just lauched my 2006 Montgomery 15 this week for the first time in Barnegat Bay NJ, and there is water in the sole of the cockpit almost all the time. Any one had this happen to them? Am I doing something wrong. Had 3 pjeople in the boat including myself. ?? Sandy
