M_Boats: Anyone in SLC up for a sail?

I recently acquired a 12' Montgomery, #21. She has no name yet that I can figure out from her paint or history. Does anyone know the "rules" for naming an unnamed boat? e.g. someone peeing off back, etc. The bottom of the mast has some damage, the previous owner suggested hack sawing off the damaged part. I though welding some more aluminum to the mast might be better. Anyone have any suggestions? I attached a photo for fun, if this is bad would someone let me know. -- Chow, Jonathan W.
