Jim. From your photos it looked like there is a tang (aka a hole to tie a line) on the boom end casting. Use that. The starboard side may be a bit busy, meaning filled with hardware and lines, with the clew reefing stuff. Be sure to locate the control end of the line so it is cleated far enough inboard that when on a reach or down wind it isn't hanging out of reach (aka outboard). I used a clamcleat 211Mk1 instead of a harken camcleat. Less expensive and you use the same CL211Mk1s for the clew and tack reefing lines. Be sure you get the aluminum CL211Mk1s NOT the black plastic ones! :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: Baba 30 #233 DEJA VU :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com <<-- new site! Thanks Dave
On the external cascade is the A Eyestrap installed on the starboard side of the boom ( in my case)?

Jim:
On the port side of the boom install something like '4:1 External Cascade' in this link (scroll past the internal outhaul description) -
https://www.harken.com/en/support/selection-tools/system-diagrams/outhaul-sy...
Use the tang at the boom end fitting instead of installing the strap eye on the starboard side. This is the system I installed in my M17 and M15.
If you are really adventurous install the '2:1 Internal' (same link as above). A variation of this system I installed on all the Sages (17, 15 and SageCat).
If you need more details let me know.

That’s correct skipper .....no Hardware on the port side, I need to also rigg the new main for reefing but I think that is straight forward. I plan to rig only for the first reef point since I day sail out of Oceanside Harbor and usually know what I am in for before casting off.
I appreciate your advise and all of the good advise from other skippers on this form.

Jim please share a picture of the outhaul hardware currently present. Even if the boat has nothing pictures of the aft 2/3rd included boom end of port and starboard will help provide options.

Ahoy Skippers
Just bent on my new main form Elliot Paterson. It is Bristol!
Any suggestions on how to rig the outhaul for easy trimming? It almost seems like the boom could be 3 in longer.
