I picked up a Simrad TP10 autopilot from the clearance table at west marine for $180.00 last fall. I have not installed it yet, so I don't know if they are any good but I know these can be found for under $400. It was originally for my Compac 16 but my wife didn't like the boat, I will be installing this on our (new to us) monty 17. She approves of this boat :-) --Chad On Oct 16, 2007, at 8:51 AM, Tim Diebert wrote:
Your question got me wondering.....so I did a little looking around. I guess Navico is now Simrad. The new version of my unit maybe the TP20. Looks like they are a lot quieter than Otto, faster and much more clever.
These new ones are not as expensive as I was led to believe. Looks like you might find one for as little as $430. At that price I would seriously consider an upgrade....but don't tell Otto. /////////////////////

Hi Tim,
What model autopilot are you using? You speak highly of it.
Thanks,
