The important thing is that the board doesn't bear on the forward end of the slot. The knot is SUPPOSED to be there! jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeff Packer" <cjpacker@theofficenet.com> To: <fernandelin@sbcglobal.net>; "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 22, 2009 6:49 AM Subject: Re: M_Boats: Montgomery 15 Centerboard position
I believe the trailing edge of the board should extend into the keel trunk a bit. It should not come out of the keel trunk.

Hi All,
How far down is the M-15 centerboard supposed to go? The previous owner of our M-15 tied a knot in the centerboard line which prevents it from going down all the way I think. Right now, the board goes down far enough so that the trailing edge of the board is still within the keel trunk. Is is supposed to go down further? I suspect so, since I don't know how else to get access to the line. Is there any reason that someone might not want the centerboard to go down all the way? The boat seems to sail great as is!
Thanks for any assistance!
