That is a shame, we were on the Bounty back in August up in Provincetown Harbor MA. Just happened to be there when she pulled in and opened up for tourists. Met the crew (mostly volunteers) and poked around the ship. Sure hope they are all doing well. Certainly is a shame about the ship. She was absolutely gorgeous under sail! Aside from some surge and higher tides (full moon), we dodged another. I have a blown shoulder that I'm having some surgery tomorrow so I couldn't get SeaFrog trailored to higher ground. I doubled up lines and removed the sails. I went down to check on her this morning. Other than getting a dock line wrapped and twisted around the engine throttle, all was fine. The bottom of the keel was even with the dock. Very strange looking up at your topsides! Sandy is now north of us where she is expected to do most of her damage. So sad to report that the HMS Bounty sank 90 miles off the coast of Cape Hateras a few hours ago. Coast Guard is picking up survivors as we speak. They have accounted for 50 out of 70 crew. Don't know the details on why she was out there in the first place. Joe SeaFrog M17

Good morning Robbin,
Thanks for the kind words.
As of 0750 DST in Glastonbury, CT we have the calm before the storm.
The leaves from the oak trees are fluttering straight down to earth. Nothing is moving outside. There was a bit of rain overnight, but that has stopped.
The barometer has dropped from 1018 mb last night to 1005 mb this morning.
With schools closed, and probably many businesses closed as well, it is very quiet outside; no vehicular traffic. Not one car has passed in the last 10 minutes.
We've got the storm jib and trys'l ready, and have unlimbered our storm anchor and our longest rode, - just in case...

Hi all, I want to wish everyone the best as Sandy comes in. This is one more time I am glad that I got a trailer thrown in with my M-23 purchase! We got the trailer out of the shop Saturday morning (new brakes, tires, lights, coupler and plumbing), put on new wood guides and slapped on the old bunks then hauled down to the marina and pulled her last night. Nice to have her on kinda high ground. And to have that much ballast keeping her in place! All the best and stay safe neighbors!
Cheers, Robbin
