Lou, I think the small ports will work. But let me tell you what I did. If you are going to put a hole in your boat, I suggest that it be the most useful possible hole. I installed Bomar hatches on both sides of my cockpit. The hatches are located on the top (horizontal) surface of the seat, spaced roughly between the locker hatch and the transom. I gained access to install a swim ladder, a motor mount and to tighten the bolts that support the rudder. My boat is an older model with the two shallow lockers, so these hatches gave me access to an amazing amount of storage for fenders and dock lines. The P boats do not have cockpit lockers, but the manufacturer offers cockpit seat hatches as a factory option. With a socket wrench and extension of the proper length, I am confident that I could install the nuts for a stern pulpit. Maybe I would need some putty or tape to hold the nut in the socket until I got the nut started, and maybe I would lose a fastener or two, but I have no doubts that I could do it. steve Steve R. I think it would take four access ports that could be caped with those little deck plates that screw on flush. Does anyone think this would work or why not? Lou
