Teflon!!! No wonder I had such a hard time keeping up with you in the San Juans Larry. Larry my friend, seeing we have sister ships (even the same color), perhaps at a weak moment you can share with me some of your "speed tuning" tricks!
Sure. Pack light, then sail with a bunch of cruisers loaded to the gills for two weeks in the San Juans.
Are you using bottom paint?
Yes, but only because when I stripped off the old anti-fouling paint that came on the boat the hull was stained and a mess. I painted it with white VC Performance Epoxy. It's a hard two part epoxy that is tough as nails. Great for a trailered boat. No anti-fouling properties, but it cleans off easily even after a couple weeks in salt water. Also, it's fast! It has a teflon component that makes it nice and slick, and it can be burnished to a shine if you're so inclined. I haven't done that.
