Howard: Thank's for your reply. I was being a bit silly. For you No. Cal Sailors, Really sailed Union Valley Resevoir in the El Dorado National Forest, Crystal Basin Region, last week. Off Hwy 50 past Pollock Pines. 5,500 ft elevation. Lots of afternoon winds to 18-20 knots. This was my 4th trip. Lots of fun. A real climb from Hwy 50 to Ice House Resevoir. If they don't have it in Iowa, you don't need it. Works great if you need corn, soybeans or hogs. Most water related activity in Iowa revolves around Walleyes in the north, catfish, bass and crappie in the south. They go to Florida to sail.
Several modest sized reservoirs, Saylorville north of Des Moines and Rathbun in the southern part come to mind. Plus MO River on the west and Mississippi River on the east. There was an M17 For Sail on the MSOG list that was kept at Rathbun near Centerville. The Mark Twain Lake Sailing Association has a member who keeps a 27' Hunter down here in Missouri.

This month's issue of Sailing Magazine has a small article on mini cruisers. Montgomerys were not among them. What a shame!
I'll be in Decorrah, Iwoa, later this week for a wedding. I've never been to Iowa, let alone the mid west. I'm looking forward to meeting Marion the Librarian and seeing a real Boys Band. Any Sailing there?
