I believe some of you have sailed the North Channel of Lake Huron in Ontario. We got back on the weekend from 2 weeks cruising there on Makin' Time. Everything went well; boat, weather, water conditions, food, company. Only downside was coming home. 13 nights on the anchor, 1 at a slip (night before hauling out). GPS shows 116 nm sailed. Straight line from launch to farthest point is 40 miles. Stayed at 3 anchorages for 2 nights. Re-anchored twice. Once due to a 180 degree wind shift, and once due to 2 boats that rafted up kind of close to us. One one anchor and one 3/8" line ashore, that soon came loose, so they were swinging towards us. They didn't seem to understand about swing radius (ours) when they first arrived. So just at dusk we made the decision to move away. Slept well that night. Used all sails aboard. Main, genoa, working jib, A-spin. I posted some pics here on the Montgomery forum of TSBB http://bbs.trailersailor.com/forums/montgomery/index.cgi/read/5121 Bill Wickett Makin' Time, M17 #622
