Sienna won't do it. You'll burn up the tranny. You need a truck and 3/4 ton is best. -----Original Message----- From: Chris Smith <chris.r.smith@gmail.com> To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wed, Feb 4, 2015 9:49 am Subject: Re: M_Boats: Montgomery 23 Dauntless for sale $17,500 What is the tongue weight and tow capacity needed? Wow! Guys, this is a bargain on a terrific boat! As many of you know, I've sailed with Sean many times aboard Dauntless. This boat is awesome. Better than new in many ways with all the work Sean has done on her, especially the rebuilt keel and centerboard. If I had a vehicle that could tow a 23, she'd be sitting in my driveway now. Somebody better snatch this up now before I talk Sean into keeping her. Seriously, this boat is fast, with a proven race record, and seaworthy. I've cruised with Sean and Jo several times and even sailed aboard her on a couple one hundred mile races down the California coast. Always felt like Dauntless could handle anything that was thrown at her, certainly way more than we could.
I hate to see Sean sell this boat; he's my sailing buddy. But I have to give Dauntless my highest praise. She should go to someone who knows and appreciates what they are getting.

Hey Gang,
The time has come for us to sell Dauntless. We put her up for sale about a year ago, and actually sold her for the asking price... but I was unable to go through with the sale and backed out. I should have let her go. Our personal situation is different now, and we will let her go. At this time I am putting her back up for sale and not wanting to wait a long time to sell her, for personal reasons. As such, we are dramatically lowering the offering price in the hopes of finding someone to give her a new home fairly quickly. I am going to post a link to the previous ad here. Everything is pretty much the same except she currently only has one battery on board (the second battery station is there , just the battery is removed) and the asking price is $17,500.....NOT $25K.
Here is the old ad (with the incorrect price) : http://sailingtexas.com/201301/smontgomery23101.html

I figured I would offer her here for sale first before re-posting her nationally on Sailing Texas again.
She is in good overall condition and I will be forthright and open about her condition with any inquiries. She is ready for an annual buff out and the teak to be refinishes, which at 17.5 will be your time to get to know her. :-)
Basically, I'm taking a break from trailersailing for a while and moving in another direction and am looking to free up some funds for that. Dauntless is a boat that has taken us on some incredible adventures and made us some life long friends. She will be able to do the same now for someone else.
You may call me at nine 2 eight - five 66 - seven 663 if you would like more info or email me at _sailhavasu@aol.com_ (mailto:sailhavasu@aol.com ) More than likely you will get my voice mail but if you leave me a message I will return your call asap I am working a side business in addition to my regular job. It involves some diving and precludes me from answering the phone quite often.
