Thanks again skipper -----Original Message----- From: Dave Scobie <scoobscobie@gmail.com> Sent: Friday, December 3, 2021 8:02 PM To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Subject: M_Boats: Re: Handheld vhf My last two handhelds were West Marine branded (some years ago it was rumored Uniden was the manufacturer). First lasted 10 years. Still using the second. Get the highest broadcast wattage (6 for handhelds). Rechargeable using ship's 12-volt along with having alkaline backup is best. The fancy ones have GPS and DSC. Make sure you get one that is waterproof and floats. Model numbers change every few years so looks at current reviews. :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: Baba 30 #233 DEJA VU :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com <<-- new site!
