Hi Connie, That size milk crate sounds like a good solution. I've been using round buckets which keep things separated, but are inefficient in the rectangular space of the locker and have to be squeezed to be removed. Obviously I need a better solution. I'll look for something the size you mentioned. Can you get an anchor, chain and rode in one of them? The anchor that I keep in the port locker is a danforth, so flat might work. But the bruce type I keep in the forward v-berth locker doesn't seem to want to fit in any container. Thanks, Rick Langer M15 #337
Hi Tod,
Somewhere in my wanderings I found some form of plastic "milk" crate: 14" L x 7" W x 14" H, which has been ideal for our M15.
The holes are small enough so that the rode doesn't ooze out; it fits neatly against the forward bulkhead of the port sail locker; and I always have an anchor / chain / rode at hand instantly, if needed.
I haven's seen any crate that size again, but if I find one, I'll grab it for additional compartmented storage in the M15.
