I have a topping lift that is a line from the base of the mast (jam cleat) to a block at the top of the mast and then down to the eye at the sft end of the boom. I only use it till the main goes up and then it remains slack. Dan M17 316B Honshells wrote:
On the coat-tails of this inquiry about a vang to keep the boom "down", does anyone out there use anything akin to a topping lift when they need to keep the boom "up"? Has anyone considered using a "boomkicker" (flexible fiberglass wand designed to keep the boom horizontal at all times)? Thanks!
