Thanks Connie. After pressure washing my boat yesterday I noticed that the lock box holds water very well. It didn't leak into the locker so I guess I properly caulked it. Now that it's all sealed and the caulk is cured, I had the thought that if I flipped the outer plated so that the tiller would lock up instead of locking down that it would drain properly. Other than the fact that all the pictures that Forespar shows has the tiller locking down, it seems to me that it was designed to lock up. I sent Forespar an email, but haven't received a reply. What do you think about locking the tiller up? Rick

Tiller Lock Box.
As I recall - and the boat is still under it's winter cover so I can't check easily - I drilled a drain hole in the bottom of the TLB for water drainage.
I wouldn't bother with a second TLB on the starboard side, because if I ever wanted to heave to I could tie off the tiller using a bit of line............
Works just as well and is the cheaper, less labor intensive solution.
