Hi Mark, glad that your boat is home for the winter. Mine is also quite a drive from my house but staying at the marina this winter. I understand the conversation with sailors. I was rebedding the port toe rail Friday with my son to help and the fella directly behind me in the storage lot was sanding a Pearson Ensign down in preparation for painting. He asked about the manufacturer, designer and year. He had not heard of Jerry M but had of course heard of Lyle Hess and thought the boat looked great for its age and larger than 23'. Always fun to talk boats. All the best, Robbin M-23 Pinch Me On 11/28/2015 9:44 PM, Mark Dvorscak wrote:
Brought Faith home today. It was 29° when I left home this morning but almost 50° when I got over to the marina at the coast. Would have been a nice day to sail but the wind was fairly light. It was a good day to pull the boat out (dry and sunny). Had 2 people so to admire the boat and talk. One a former M17 sailor who after a broken back had to consign himself to powerboats. The other gentleman's dad had been a dealer for Jerry's boats back in the day. I believe he said Sacramento Marine was his dad's business. He used to deliver M boats for his dad when he was just out of school. You never know who you will meet when you have a Montgomery at the ramp! It seems like I can never launch or retrieve without having to stop and converse with some boat admirer! 34° and getting dark when I pulled back into the driveway at home. Can't wait for spring.
