Hi David, I sailed mostly by myself, so sat as far forward in the M15 cockpit as possible. I put a tiller extension on the tiller but the tiller extension / tiller was at the wrong angle for sailing, so, ..... I built a new, longer tiller that then gave me the correct geometry for tiller extension / tiller while sailing. I found that it was a major improvement. I had no problems with tiller length, doing tight tacks. Happy sailing Connie M15 #400 LEPPO On 8/19/2022 8:41 AM, David Grah via montgomery_boats wrote:
Funny, I extended my stock tiller 6 inches or so several years ago and have been very happy being able to sit comfortably further forward. I've never felt limited by the longer tiller when maneuvering. It hasn't even seemed to impact room in the cockpit much. Skippers For tacking out the channel in light air I wish the tiller was about 1/2 its length Is there a telescoping tiller out there? Capt Jim
