honda 2HP with the long shaft (20"). SCRED's is an '05 motor and has never, knock on wood, let me down. the only day i've had difficulty starting the motor was the time i test-sailed the boat before purchase. 9 out of 10 times the motor starts on the first pull. i would only think of a different motor, or a larger 2.5 or 3, horsepower was marketed with an external tank option. anything over 3HP on an M15 is OVERKILL. 2 HP is just fine 95% of the time. i motor at 1/2-2/3 throttle and see 3.5+ to knots to a bit over 4kts. at 1/2 throttle can get up to 1hr 15min of run time between 'fill ups'. 2/3 throttle run time is around 45 to 50 minutes. dave scobie M15 #288 - SCRED visit Scred's www-site: http://www.freewebs.com/m15-named-scred --- On Fri, 4/10/09, Sandra Anton <sailrsandy@yahoo.com> wrote: Just purchased a Montgomery 15 and would like any recomendations for outboards.
