Very old Archives dating from August, 1996 to November, 2001 can be viewed at the ftp site.
An ugly and cumbersome procedure must be used to view attachments to archived messages, such a pictures.
First, find the message using the searchable archive http://mailman.xmission.com/lurker/list/montgomery_boats.en.html/ (It will be helpful if posters add something like "picture attached" to their message)
Note the author, subject and date. (It will be helpful if posters add something like "picture attached" to their message)
Next, go to non-searchable archives https://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/private/montgomery_boats/
Find that same message using the author, subject and date information.
Finally, if the message has an attachment, you'll see a link to it below the message.
Remember when posting, there is a total message size limit of 3.5 MB so you may need to reduce the size of your multi-megabit photo.
