The problem with the 23’s isn’t really locating one ….. it’s locating one for sale! :-). Sailed with Mark and Roberta multiple times. Huge Monty fans, great sailors, and wonderful people. The 23 is a a great boat for what it is. It’s a Montgomery 17 stretched to give more cabin room , however , the beam was not stretched proportionally so as it keep it legal to trailer without wide load permits. It’s a good sailor , however it’s a little more tender than a 17. The 17 is hands down the best sailing boat in the Monty fleet. It’s cockpit size and beam are nearly identical to the much longer 23. Nevertheless , if you want to sail with company or a family , the 23 does it well. I spent many years sailing mine and loved every minute of of. (Excepting rigging up and de-rigging). The rig is heavy so be ready! :-)

There's one near Coos Bay here on the Oregon coast, the owner is Mark Dvorscak who's still on this list I think...you out there Mark?
I've been out on it once with him some years ago. It's in Bristol shape, would be a great example for you to see how fine a boat it is when well cared for. Feels pretty spacious inside for a 23-footer.
cheers, John

Does anyone on the west coast of the USA have an M23 they would be willing to let me come see? I am interested in purchasing one, but have never seen one in person... I want to look at the design in person before I spend too much time searching for such a rare boat. My M15 is getting a little small for my family, although we're still having a ton of fun and adventures on it.
